During the week she starts gently, working with everyone at the stage they are at (whether beginner, intermediate or advanced yogi). As people reconnect to their strength and health she builds up the practice, working with core strength (so, yes you'll sweat in some of those asana yoga poses), flexibility (stretching both body and mind) and breathing (pranayama). Every class will start and finish with deep relaxation (savasana), visualisations and an intention.
By the end of the week you'll feel reconnected to your body and mind, strong healthy and whole. And you'll go home knowing you can remain healthy in a way that works for you.
“Katrina, I loved your yoga!!!! It has inspired me to take up yoga in the UK - you set up my day brilliantly and my stature and posture is beginning to change. You are an inspirational angel.”
Ellie - Student
All our yoga holidays are designed for all levels. As on other weeks, there is one session in the morning and one late-afternoon.
It is not surprising Katrina teaches a yoga that can create vibrant health: Her story is amazing. She grew up on a farm in New Zealand working as a chef for the farmers. From an early age she suffered from chronic disease. At 19 she was told there was no hope of healing and was offered experimental medication.
This is when she discovered Yoga and Natural Health… and she has never looked back. She healed all her issues, lost 60 pounds, and is now a living example of how to live fully and healthily using yoga as a vibrant and fulfilling part of your day.
“For me, Yoga is an incredible way of being and living. I love teaching anything to do with yoga. I believe this is about being who you really are and doing what you really love.”
The basis of Katrina's yoga teaching - and of her approach to full and natural health - is Hatha Yoga. But she brings into the yoga the understanding that each of us has a personal 'flow'. By listening-in and not doing anything with force she allows everyone to tune into themselves, and find their flow, their natural way to be healthy and fully alive, and their own yoga. In this way health becomes a natural expression of who we are.
(And this, for her, is the essence of 'vibrant health')
